A mother has been blasted online after revealing that she leaves her children in the car when she goes shopping – and now people are calling her an ‘idiot’.

The woman, whose name has been removed, shared a post on Facebook asking other mothers for feedback on how they handle their children when nipping to the shops.

She said that her chosen preference was to park outside the shop and run in for ‘less than a minute’, keeping her eyes on the car at all times.

But a screenshot of the post was shared online and other people said the woman was wrong if she thought she was only in there for a minute – adding that she was putting her children in danger.

The original post reads: “Good evening ladies, feedback needed.

“How are y’all doing things since the babies graduated to bigger car seats and you need to get out, run in the store and don’t want to take them?

“I mean a convenient store where you know you will only be in for less than a minute. I park in the front of the store where I can see him, down the windows and run in and out.

“What are y’all doing? Taking them out every time?

“I ask because I saw a store here in Houston where a woman left her kids in the car while she went to buy some drinks but she left the car running and someone stole the car with the kids in it.”

The screenshot was shared on Reddit, and internet users were quick to criticise the mother – with one person saying she shouldn’t have children.

One said: “Is this person going to sprint in, grab one item and then sprint out and just throwing cash at the cashier running by?

“Every idiot who gets caught leaving their child in the car tries to claim, ‘oh I was just in the store for five minutes’ -no, you weren’t.”

And another added: “Uhh, there is a reason that there are signs all over Texas reminding you not to leave kids or pets in the car, even with the windows rolled down.”

While a third user wrote: “Do not have children if you think that they are such an inconvenience to your life.”
